Tips

Risk of a Long Battle With Magic Damage Dealt UP

Whenever Hiveval uses the no-dialogue attack with its legs in the air and "Grr...," its magic damage dealt increases by 50%. It will increase to a max of 300%, so aim to finish things quickly and deal damage efficiently.

Be Diligent About Where You Take Attacks

One of the basics of Mitrasphere is that all-unit attacks and nearby row unit attacks should be taken from the back row by all non-Guardian players. Defeating the boss will take longer if players go down, Magic Damage Dealt UP buffs will be powerful for beating it quickly.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman Playstyle

The Swordsman is in charge of DPS. For the nearby row attack "Shaaah!" and the all-unit attack "Graaargh!," calmly move to the back row and deal damage with Magic Twin Blades and the Dragonkin Greatsword combo to keep yourself alive.

Mage Playstyle

The Mage is a debuffer and attacker. For the nearby row attack "Shaaah!" and the all-unit attack "Graaargh!," use your Scythe and damage staff that move you to the front row after the damage of these moves has been determined or during buffs and single-unit attacks.

Guardian Playstyle

Hiveval's Magic Damage Dealt UP buff also applies to its all-unit attack, so fight while cutting damage with a Magic Damage Taken DOWN shield. Managing HATE and maintaining Steel-type buffs are important for receiving all single-unit attacks.

Cleric Playstyle

Hiveval's strongest attack is an all-unit attack, so be sure to equip all-unit recovery and boost its heal to counter the damage taken. If you manage to keep your Guardian alive, you'll be able to fight with your party intact.

Archer Playstyle

Archers will focus on buffs/debuffs, raising DPS for the whole party. Avoid the nearby row attack "Shaaah” and the all-unit attack "Graaargh!" when moving to the front using your Magic Cannon.

Hiveval Basic Info

Hiveval is a Water element boss, so be sure to play smart by using Earth element dyes.
