Beware of the "..." Dialogue

Ulteriness's "..." dialogue applies a DPS buff to Ulteriness and a DPS debuff to the player front row, so attackers should avoid the debuff in the back row.

If you do get hit by the debuff, not only will you temporarily only be able to deal 1 damage, but Ulteriness's DPS will increase, so you must not fight Ulteriness while it is powered up. It helps for the Cleric or Archer to take the debuff if the Guardian cannot take all the Hate.

Upa Jellyfish? Depending on the Situation

When defeated, the Upa Jellyfish? applies an HP Recovery UP buff to the payers, so defeat it when the battle with Ulteriness is dragging out and you lack heals.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman Playstyle

Deal damage with your Light weapons such as the Holy Stilettos, Holy Axe, Angel Saber, and Mitra Claymore while taking near-unit and all-unit attacks in the back.

Make sure you’re in the back for the “...” attacks to avoid the massive debuff that may drag the fight longer.

Mage Playstyle

Use your Light and/or single-target Extreme attack combos to do damage to the boss while taking near-unit and all-unit attacks in the back.

Guardian Playstyle

This fight is a mix of Physical and Magical Damage, so bring Damage Taken DOWN weapons like Mitra, Folia, or the Blue Comet. Prioritize generating Hate so you’re the only one taking Physical Damage, and if you’re struggling to maintain hate, have the Cleric or Archer go front for “...” to avoid the debuff yourself.

Consider Träne if your DPS are struggling with the Magical all-unit attacks.

Cleric Playstyle

Bring a mix of single-target and all-unit recovery items. If the Guardian is struggling to maintain Hate, coordinate with them so that you can move forward on “...” to take the debuff in their stead.

Archer Playstyle

Keep up buffs, Damage Taken UP, and elemental debuffs while taking near-unit and all-unit attacks in the rear. If DPS are struggling with the boss’s damage, consider the Crystal Sphere to reduce the Magical all-unit attacks. If the Guardian is struggling to maintain Hate, coordinate with them so that you can move forward on “...” to take the debuff in their stead.
