Tips
You should immediately defeat Wave 2
The Boalia in Wave 2 will apply a Fire Resistance 50% DOWN from a different debuff group. It will be applied by the front row attack indicated by "Hrrrrr", and the "*drip drip*" all-unit attack once its HP goes below a certain amount. We recommend that you defeat it before being hit by the debuff.
The Maggarm will use attacks with different debuff effect values as single unit attacks. Guardians should not accumulate Hate and focus on applying buffs.
Beware of Debuff Extension Starting With Wave 2
Agnios will do the "..." attack as its opening move. It will extend the high value debuffs of Wave 2. Jobs other than Guardians should fight from the rear row.
If a Guardian receives multiples debuffs in Wave 2, a job other than Cleric should become the target in the front row. The Guardian can then evade by moving to the rear row.
Ignore the Maglime and Focus On the Boss
Defeating the Maglime will increase the amount of Agnios's self-inflicted damage while lowering its attack power, but you'll beat the boss more quickly by redirecting the damage done to the Maglime to the boss instead.
If you are going to eliminate the Maglime, do so at the right time, when Agnios activates "Burn" or "All will burn."
Playstyle for Each Job
Swordsman Playstyle
Quickly Defeat the Boalia in Wave 2
The Boalia will apply Fire Resistance DOWN to the front row and all-units, so quickly defeat it and avoid having debuffs applied to your party.
Be Wary of Enemy Attacks While Damaging the Boss
The Swordsman will do damage with the Magic Twin Blades combo while evading dangerous attacks with weapons that send them to the back row. The Trane Sword can self-sustain 30% Water Resistance from Dragonic so is recommended.
Mage Playstyle
Go Dragonkin ASAP and Damage All-Units in Wave 2
The Boalia will apply Fire Resistance DOWN to the front row and all-units, so quickly defeat it and avoid having debuffs applied to your party. Mages should enter Dragonkin mode ASAP and quickly defeat the Boalia and Maggarm.
Be Wary of Enemy Attacks While Damaging the Boss
Deal damage to the boss with your Scythe as you avoid the boss's front row attacks and all-unit attacks. It is recommended to leverage the Birka Rod to deal Extreme damage to kill the boss and Boalia quickly.
Guardian Playstyle
Don't Get Hit by Debuffs in Wave 2
Your play in Wave 2 of the Agnios battle is key. The Wave 2 debuffs are big, and the opening move of Wave 3 will extend the Wave 2 debuffs.
Guardians should avoid debuffs as best as they can in Wave 2, and then act as the target for the opening front row attack of Wave 3.
Understand Which Attacks You Can Handle Depending on the Debuff
There are many DEF debuffs in the Agnios battle. If your debuff from Wave 2 is extended, you'll be able to withstand fewer attacks.
The "All will burn" attack is an especially powerful all-unit attack, so be sure to equip a weapon that can move you to the back row. Dragonic Birka Shell can be used as an emergency weapon if your team is unable to survive the boss’s all-unit attacks. Make sure to bring Magic Damage mitigation shields like Folia, Trane, or Blue Comet to increase survival rates.
Clerics, Beware of Powerful All-Unit Attacks
There are DEF debuffs and powerful all-unit attacks in the Agnios fight. Provide all-unit healing to correspond with all-unit attacks. Depending on your debuff situation, it is possible that allies will get knocked out, so be sure to have revival weapons at the ready. You can rely on maces that increase Water Resistance, such as the Rogue Baton or Kerat Baton, to increase survivability.
You'll want to get through Wave 2 with as few debuffs applied as possible, so equip a weapon that does extreme all-unit damage and help out with defeating enemies in Wave 2.
Archers: Prepare Your Buffs & Debuffs
Archers should increase the entire party's DPS using buffs and debuffs. Weapons that reduce Water Resistance such as the Birka Arrow, Birka Kukri, and Sealed Magic Ring will help with killing the boss and Boalia faster. “All will burn” is a powerful all-unit attack so bring Crystal Sphere to reduce the damage, and if that’s not enough, Dragonic Earth Sniper.
Agnios Basic Info
This is a Fire element boss, so deal damage efficiently using Water element attacks.
