Tips

Watch out for "Bon Appetit!" After "You Look Tasty!"

After randomly applying Hate 999% UP with "You look tasty!," Aspidochelone will use the "Bon appetit!" single-unit attack. Everyone should be on standby after "You look tasty!" so that the Guardian can be made to take the single-unit attack.

Equip Lots of All-Unit + Nearby Row Attacks

By equipping lots of all-unit and nearby row attacks for the Aspidochelone fight, you can quickly deal with the mobs. There are two with shields in the front row, and the faster you deal with these mobs the easier it is to handle the boss, so make sure you have lots of area attack weapons equipped.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman Playstyle

The Swordsman should stay alive by holding off on attacking once the Aspidochelone says "You look tasty!" and wait until "Bon appetit!"

Since there are two mobs with shields in the front row, and one enemy in the rear row, make sure you have lots of nearby row attack weapons equipped. Taking out the mobs quickly leads to a more reliable strategy. Terra Breaker is a great option here as it’s Earth, has a near-unit attack, and extends the Crystal Eater so you can follow with another powerful hit.

Mage Playstyle

Use your Dragonkin combo ASAP to all-unit attacks and quickly defeat all enemies except Aspidochelone. Hold off on attacking once the Aspidochelone says "You look tasty!" and wait until after "Bon appetit!"

Guardian Playstyle

The Guardian will manage Hate in the front row. It's easy for Hate to be directed at another job with Aspidochelone's "You look tasty!" move, so we recommend having a Hate overwrite weapon in order to take back the Hate immediately. Terra Shield combined with Bronze Spatha can give you 1200% Hate generation for one all-unit attack to grab aggro. This fight is a mix of Magic and Physical damage, so Mitra, Folia, or the Blue Comet are all helpful here.

Cleric Playstyle

The Cleric should stay alive by not grabbing aggro when Aspidochelone says "You look tasty!" and play safe until after "Bon appetit!" The "Bon appetit!" single-unit attack is very powerful, so it's important to have a single-unit recovery weapon equipped.

Archer Playstyle

In the Aspidochelone fight, the Archer should equip lots of weapons with all-unit debuffs and focus primarily on buffing. If you see the "You look tasty!" attack that randomly applies a Hate Multiplier UP, stop your attacks temporarily and wait until after "Bon appetit!". Once all the enemies but the boss are down you can Dragonkin Earth Sniper to reduce the damage of “Bon appetit!” if the Hate UP wasn’t applied to you.
