Tips

Poison Removal Timing While the Enemy is Strengthened

Poison Removal Timing While the Enemy is Strengthened

When the enemy is in a Strengthened state, it will frequently apply poison. The Cleric will generally remove poison, but it will be hard to progress if they mess up the timing when removing it.

It won't apply poison after using *click…* three times, so it will be more effective to remove poison after that.

Don't Move If You're Poisoned and Near Death

Don't Move If You're Poisoned and Near Death

When the player is poisoned near death, they'll take poison damage every time they move, and may be knocked out.

Other jobs should wait until the Cleric heals them, especially when the enemy uses *click click!* three times in a row in the Strengthened state.

Prepare Counters for Poison

The Grim Wasp frequently uses poison attacks. Use Poison Recovery immediately to minimize damage taken.

Grim wasp’s Attacks have Regularity

Grim wasp’s attacks have a 10-turn cycle. Turn 1 is “Its compound eyes are darting around!”, turns 2 and 3 Grim wasp will do 2 of “Its stinger shines sharply!”, “Bzzz…”, and “No Dialogue” which are all poison attacks, turn 4 is strengthened buff “The sound of wings grows louder”, and finally turns 5-10 will be the strengthened action order outlined in Move Patterns.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman Playstyle

Efficiently deal damage using the Magic Twin Blades combo or Dragonkin Greatsword combo after your Axe buff. When the enemy is Strengthened, it will frequently use poison attacks, so if your HP is low, the key to victory is to stay on standby and wait for healing/poison removal. Grim Wasp’s attacks have a quick charge up, so the best time to attack is when it does single-target attacks or buffs.

Mage Playstyle

At the opening, use the Deaskalo Scythe or Crystal Wand to debuff the boss, then prepare to deal damage. After applying debuffs and buffing your own damage dealt, rack up damage using the 4-step Dragonkin combo. Be wary of the boss’s quick attacks and go front during buffs and single target attacks.

When the enemy is Strengthened, it will frequently use poison attacks, so if your HP is low, the key to victory is to stay on standby and wait for healing/poison removal.

Guardian Playstyle

The Guardian will assume a tank role and protect the party. Once you've applied Hate and DEF buffs, join in on the attack. This fight is all Physical Damage, so bring the Mitra Spada. If the Cleric doesn’t have poison removal you can bring Calm Klingel and use it on turns four and nine.

Cleric Playstyle

When the enemy is Strengthened it will constantly apply Poison, so make sure you remove the Poison after the three consecutive *click…!* moves on turn nine and on turn four after the two consecutive Poison attacks.

This boss has many area attacks, so it helps to have a lot of all-unit recovery weapons.

Archer Playstyle

Archers should use a lot of buffs and debuffs to increase the overall DPS of the party. When the enemy is Strengthened, it will frequently use poison attacks, so if your HP is low, the key to victory is to stay on standby and wait for healing/poison removal. This fight is all physical so bring Phantom Skull to reduce the boss’s damage. “It’s clicking its mandibles fiercely” is the strongest attack so Dragonic Earth Sniper if needed.
