Tips

Build Dragonkin in Wave 2

Build Dragonkin in Wave 2

The Graenill fight has a 2nd and 3rd wave. In Wave 3, Spindles will appear in addition to Graenill, so building Dragonkin in Wave 2 before moving on will make fighting in the Wave 3 battle easier.

Dragonkin Attack the Mobs at the Start of Wave 3

Dragonkin Attack the Mobs at the Start of Wave 3

The mobs that appear in Wave 3 unleash powerful debuffs at the start, so take them all out at once using Dragonkin attacks before you get hit by them.

If you're only able to take out the mobs on one side, prioritize the Spindles at the top. The Spindles at the top will apply HP Recovery DOWN to the whole party, so they are a dangerous enemy that can cause your party to fall apart.

Beware of Gnawing Earth After Earth Bond

Graenill applies an Earth Resistance DOWN to the front row with the "Earth Bond/Give your body to the earth" dialogue, then uses an Earth element physical attack with "Gnawing Earth/I'll make it easy for you!"

If hit by Gnawing Earth while affected by the Earth Resistance DOWN debuff, you will take enough damage to generally get insta-killed, so the Guardian should counter this using Guts and Earth Resistance UP.

If DPS goes back for “Give your body to the earth” then “I’ll make it easy for you” will do little damage to them.

Graenill’s Attacks Have Regularity

Graenill’s attacks have a five-turn cycle. Turns 1-3 will be “No Dialogue”, “Go on”, and “I’ll Entangle You” in a random order, turn four will be “Give your body to the earth”, and finally turn five will be “I’ll make it easy for you”

After dialogue five “I’ll make it easy for you”, dialogues will be selected in the same order as the previous cycle.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman

Because the Swordsman takes the DPS role, you'll want to deal damage with Magic Twin Blades while maintaining the buffs from your Adamante Buster and Battleaxe. Flor Saber is a great pick here for Extreme Wind damage and it can sustain up to 30% Earth Resistance with Dragonkin.

"Give your body to the earth" applies an Earth Resistance DOWN to the front row, so jobs other than the Guardian should be sure not to get hit by this debuff.

Mage

Mages take the role of DPS and applying debuffs, so be sure to keep your Ivis Rod and Deaskalo Scythe or Crystal Wand debuffs active while using your 4-step Dragonkin combo. Take note of the boss’s attack order so you know the best times to go forward.

It's effective to build your Dragonkin Gauge in Wave 2, then activate your all-unit Magic Device that deals extreme damage in Dragonkin mode when you move to Wave 3.

Guardian

Guardians will manage Hate/buffs as always, minimizing damage to the party and themselves. This fight is Physical Damage heavy so bring Mitra or Blue Comet. If your team can’t clear the Spindles instantly, all-unit attack shields like Clima or Inferno will help sustain Hate.

"Give your body to the earth" applies an Earth Resistance DOWN to the front row. If you can't survive the all-unit "I'll make it easy for you" attack that follows in the front row, it helps to equip a weapon that moves you to the rear row so you can get hit there instead.

Cleric

You will manage your party's HP, focusing on the Guardian. The boss uses many all-unit attacks so recommended to bring all-unit recovery. Activate your healing up buff from maces like Crystal Mace after attack four “Give your body to the earth” for a strong single target heal on guardian after attack five.

"Give your body to the earth" applies an Earth Resistance DOWN to the front row, so jobs other than the Guardian should be sure not to get hit by this debuff.

Archer

Archers will use ATK buffs/DEF debuffs/elemental debuffs and raise the party's DPS. You can Dragonic Earth Sniper on attack five, “I’ll make it easy for you!”, and bring Phantom Skull to lower stress on the Guardian if needed.

"Give your body to the earth" applies an Earth Resistance DOWN to the front row, so jobs other than the Guardian should be sure not to get hit by this debuff.

Graenill Basic Info

This is an Earth element boss, so use Wind element attacks.
