Tips
Absorb Area Attacks in the Back Row
Try your best to get hit by Hildegard's area attacks in the back row. Her area attacks aren't particularly powerful, but getting KO'd draws out the battle and there is a danger of getting taken out by "Attack Stance" combos.
Keep Landing Attacks on Her After She's Strengthened
When you deal damage to her after "This is my full power!" where she gets the Strengthened buff, her damage dealt will lower. Only one hit is needed. Lowering her damage dealt will drastically lower the difficulty of the fight, so one person should be tasked with damaging her.
Hildegard's Attacks Have Regularity
Hildegard’s attacks have an eight-turn cycle. From turns 1 to 3, “I won’t go easy on you,” “There’s nowhere to run,” and no dialogue will be selected in a random order, turns 4 and 5 will be Shield and Sword into Full Power, turns 6 and 7, “I won’t go easy on you,” and “There’s nowhere to run,” will be selected in a random order, and finally turn 8 will be the offensive stance combo.
Playstyle for Each Job
Swordsman Playstyle
The Swordsman is in charge of DPS. While taking hits from area attacks in the back row to stay alive, lower her HP using a Magic Twin Blades combo and a Dragonkin Greatsword combo. You can only manage one attack between Hildegard’s attacks, so bring buff-extending back weapons such as Stone Edge and Folia Fling, and pair them with buff-extending front weapons such as Flor Saber and Jadeite Edge to keep consistent DPS.
After Hildegard’s 3rd attack in the pattern, you have 3-4 attacks before “This is my full power!” so do your strongest combo then.
If you’re taking too much damage, equip Wind Resistance or the Ember Sword as the latter can provide up to an additional 30% Wind Resistance.
Mage Playstyle
Mages are in charge of debuffs and DPS. Deal damage with a Dragonkin combo as you extend your buffs, and be wary of her area attacks. Going into EX versions of the fight, make sure to equip plenty of Wind Resistance, and if you still can’t survive “This is my full power!” you can Dragonkin Helix Jewel if you have it for the guaranteed dodge, or bring Wind Resistance UP Magic Devices such as the Spirit Dog Talisman or Clima Decanter.
Guardian Playstyle
This enemy has powerful single-unit attacks, so make sure your DEF buffs don't expire and sustain your HATE accumulation. Bring a back item such as Ruins Coin or Wood Germ for the tankbuster in the offensive stance combos. This fight is all physical damage, so bring Mitra Shield and save Dragonkin for emergency heals with Mitra if needed..
Cleric Playstyle
This is a straightforward battle for Clerics. Keep your allies' HP full, and revive the Swordsman that inevitably gets knocked out. You can safely use heal boost items like Crystal Mace when Hildegard’s “This is my full power!” dialogue pops up and after “Offensive Stance” animation as there will be a big hit four seconds later. Going into
EX versions of the fight, make sure to equip full Wind Resistance. If you still can’t survive “This is my full power!”, you can Dragonkin Helix Jewel for the guaranteed dodge or bring Wind Resistance UP Magic Devices such as the Spirit Dog Talisman or Clima Decanter.
Archer Playstyle
The Archer will take on a support role. Extend the time that your buffs/debuffs remain in effect. Hildegard is full physical, so as an Archer you want to bring Phantom Skull and combine it with Dragonkin Earth Sniper to debuff “This is my full power!”
Hildegard Basic Info
