Tips
Beware of the Attack After "Do It!"
When Matilda says "Do it," she will apply an all-unit Accuracy UP. After she uses "Do it," 4 Upa Jellyfish will use all-unit attacks, so we recommend you take them out before they land.
The Upa Jellyfish Change Behavior at Certain HP Levels
When the Upa Jellyfish's HP falls below a certain level, they will apply an Ally HP Recovery UP to Matilda and an HP Recovery UP to themselves, which can slow down your buffs and all-unit attacks.
After she uses "Do it," the Upa Jellyfish will use all-unit attacks. We recommend reducing the Upa Jellyfish's HP using front row Magic Twin Blades or all-unit attacks.
Focus On the Boss if There's No Power Cap
In "Matilda & Upa Jellyfish" Lv. 1, there is no power cap, so we recommend focusing on Matilda and overwhelming her with DPS.
Matilda’s Attacks Have Regularity
Matilda has two patterns, one being a five-attack cycle, and the other being a seven-attack cycle. During the first pattern, attacks 1 to 3 will consist of “How about this!”, “Okay!”, “No Dialogue” in any order, and the 4th attack will be “I feel the wind”, with the 5th attack being “We can do it.”
During the second pattern, attacks 1 to 3 will consist of: “How about this!”, “Okay!”, “No Dialogue”, “Take this!” in any order; attack four will be “I feel the wind;” attack five will be “Here goes;” attack six will be “I feel the wind;” and finally, attack seven will be “Do it,” which causes the Upas to unleash all-unit damage.
Playstyle for Each Job
Swordsman Playstyle
We recommend Fire weapons that deal large damage to front row Upa Jellyfish and Matilda. Prioritize equipping them if you have them. Inferno may be appropriate to keep the front row down. You can either focus your single-target attacks on Matilda or Upa Sorcerer as the latter does powerful all-unit damage, but if your team is failing to down all of the Upas before Matilda heals them, focus Matilda and be avoid the Upa Sorcerer’s attacks.
It's important to concentrate on buffing at first until Hate towards the Guardian stabilizes, and to play in a way that allows you to not get hit by single-unit attacks.
Mage Playstyle
Mages should repeatedly use attacks that target the front row or all units. If you reduce the front row Upa Jellyfish's HP to 1, you can interrupt their buffs.
Guardian Playstyle
Guardians should accumulate Hate from front-row enemies. Only the front row has single-unit attacks, so there's no need to take Hate from the back row. Consider the Angel Shield for its all-unit Damage DOWN to reduce AOE damage from the Upas.
We recommend having a weapon that can apply a Magic Damage Taken DOWN to the team. Consider Trane for the all-unit attacks that follow after “Do it” if your team is unable to keep the Upas down.
Cleric Playstyle
Clerics will manage their allies' HP using recovery to keep them from being knocked out. The Matilda & Upa Jellyfish battle contains many area attacks, so applying Wind Resistance UP will be helpful. During Matilda’s second pattern there will be many all-unit attacks following the first “I feel the wind,” so make sure everyone is healthy when Matilda says “Do it” as the follow-up all-unit attacks from the Upas may prove fatal otherwise.
Archer Playstyle
Archers should focus on buffs and debuffs to increase the overall DPS of the party, while being mindful of the all-unit attacks. Just another day in Jobari Village for our Archer pals… with a bunch of Upas.
You can focus your single-target Damage Taken UP debuff on Matilda, but do bring all-unit Damage Taken UP as well. Consider using the Crystal Sphere on Matilda to reduce her damage.
Matilda & Upa Jellyfish Basic Info
Matilda & Upa Jellyfish is a Wind element boss, so deal damage efficiently using Fire element attacks.

You can obtain the Rabbit Mage Series from completion rewards and drop rewards. The Rabbit Tailcoat Cloak increases magic damage dealt, so it is recommended for Mages as well as Swordsmen and Archers using Magic Twin Blades.
