Tips

All Jobs Except Guardian Need Move to Rear Equipment

The Sky Pirate Boss's "Let's go, scumbags" and "Scallywags! Fire!" attacks are front row attacks. Guardians generally won't move from the front row, so other jobs should equip back row equipment and be sure not to get hit in the front row.

The Boss's DPS Goes Up at 50% HP and Below

At 50% HP, the Sky Pirate Boss will use the "Now's the time, here goes" dialogue and apply a Physical Damage Dealt 350% UP to himself.

If jobs other than Guardians get hit by him in the front row, it will be enough damage to instantly kill them, so be thorough in your row management.

Playstyle for Each Job

Swordsman Playstyle

Deal damage primarily with Magic Twin Blades, and maximize DPS using Harp/Crystal Eater -> Folia -> Dragonkin Träne/Blue Comet.

Be aware of the enemy's dialogue and be sure not to get hit in the front row.

Mage Playstyle

Gear up for an all-unit Dragonkin combo to wipe out the pirates in the rear row. Once those are clear, focus down the boss with single-target Extreme attacks, but be careful not to take damage in the front row as it could lead to instant death.

Guardian Playstyle

The Sky Pirate Boss uses only physical attacks, so equip Mitra or Ardea and extend buffs with Adamante as you output DPS.

Cleric Playstyle

The Sky Pirate Boss's attacks are generally only to be taken by the Guardian, so equip single-unit recovery equipment.

After "Now's the time, here goes!," the enemy's DPS will increase, so be thorough when healing the Guardian.

Archer Playstyle

Archers will increase the DPS of the party using buffs and debuffs. You can bring Phantom Skull to reduce the damage of the boss as he’s all Physical Damage.

If you get hit in the front row, it will do enough damage to insta-kill, so keep an eye on the enemy's dialogue when moving to the front row.
