Tips
"——!" Followed by "Graaargh" Requires Caution
The DPS buff "——!" followed by the all-unit attack "Graaargh" will cause you to take large damage, so employ countermeasures like moving to the rear or using damage cuts. The DPS buff "——!" will drastically boost Warlugan's damage, so it could destroy your party.
"——!" Provides an Opportunity
The DPS buff "——!" applies a Physical/Magic Damage Taken 80% UP, so it can be an opportunity to attack. Since the effect of its buffs are strong as well, attack it quickly while avoiding its attacks.
Build Dragonkin Gauge in the 2nd Wave
The Grand Battle "Warlugan" quest contains 3 waves. The Warlugan in Wave 2 is not strong, so save your Dragonkin and attack ASAP in Wave 3.
Playstyle for Each Job
Swordsman Playstyle
The Swordsman takes on the DPS role and aims for the boss. Bring down the boss's HP using the high single-target DPS Magic Twin Blades combo and Dragonkin Greatsword Combo. It's important that after the DPS buff "——!" that you avoid attacks as much as possible and stay alive.
Mage Playstyle
Mages will use all-unit attacks to damage the minion monsters and the boss simultaneously. It's fine to focus your debuffs on the more powerful boss enemy.
Guardian Playstyle
Guardians will protect allies with damage mitigation and by managing Hate. Consider the Cursed Shield to grab Hate from all units. This fight is a mix of Physical and Magical Damage, so bring Mitra, Folia, or the Blue Comet. “Great Starcrusher Flame” is a very powerful Magic attack, so counter it with Träne or Birka if you have them.
Cleric Playstyle
Warlugan has many area attacks, so focus your equipment on all-unit recovery. Save Dragonkin for after “Great Starcrusher Flame” as it’s a very powerful attack.
Archer Playstyle
Archers are supporters that will raise the DPS of the entire party. With this set, you focus your Damage Taken UP debuffs on the boss. You can Dragonic Earth Sniper to reduce the damage of “Great Starcrusher Flame,” and as the boss is mostly Magic Damage, consider the Crystal Sphere. If the Swordsman does not bring the Birka Kukri, bring them for Water Resistance DOWN if you can.
Warlugan Basic Info
This is a Fire element boss, so deal damage efficiently using Water element attacks.
